Dear theater lovers and friends
We are proud to announce Curtain Call Theatre’s new production of Over The River And Into the Woods by Joe DiPietro opening Friday, May 5 with Pay What You Can and closes on Saturday, May 27. See the attached postcard with details.
This heartwarming comedy opens our new 2023 Season with reminders of why we live and why we have loved ones around us. It’s about how we deal with changes in our lives; in other words, it’s about family.
We call this show a “heartwarming comedy”. What does that even mean? It’s about family. All that family means: ancestry, parenting, love, passion, anger, sadness, being the grandparents that Nick (the actor Nick playing the character Nick) says “didn’t foresee that they would elevate me to a life so far removed from their own that they could never quite comprehend who I had become or how I would continue their legacy.”
And that is the task of each generation. To learn how to weave the threads of all that your ancestors were, all that your family is, and who you choose to be into your own unique tapestry. And try to understand how that plays out against the day-to-day family life.
Family is love, anger, love, sadness, love, food, and love. Tengo Famiglia! Mangiamo! Savor every delicious moment. Everything came beautiful, didn’t it?
We’ve all been waiting for some new normality after the Covid Monster interrupted our lives and distracted us from each other. Please join us to celebrate each other again and support our theater family once more. Your support is vital to keeping theater alive in this community and beyond.
We send you many good wishes and look forward to hosting you at our little theater again.
