Welcome to The HALL at the Russian River.
In order to uphold the Principles and Precepts upon which The HALL at the Russian River is founded, the Owners deem it of the utmost importance to offer the opportunities to the Community at large to participate in the activities of theatre production in all its aspects and many other community activities. To this end, the Owners feels that these Principles must be protected by all participants for their personal enjoyment, for the enjoyment of all other participants, and of the entire community. Therefore, the Owners require all participants to seriously adhere to the Code of Conduct set forth here.
We are very serious about the professional quality of our theatre. We treat everyone, be it guests or volunteers, with kindness and respect. We expect you to do the same. So be prepared to do your best. This is all we ask. If you are an amateur, we don’t expect you to have a professional quality performance. However, we want to give you the best opportunity to do well and learn the craft. Just be ready, respect the art of the theatre, and have a good time.
We therefore expect every guest who rents The HALL at the Russian River to read and follow these guidelines. If any of these rules are not followed, it will result in dismissal at the discretion of the Owners. Kindly acknowledge receipt, understanding, and agreement to this Code of Conduct on the attached roster. Thank you, and we hope your participation and contributions will be your reward for you and your community at large.
1- BE COURTEOUS to everyone inside and outside the theatre building at all times. Your behavior in connection with The HALL at the Russian River is a reflection on the Owners in general and will be the measure by which we will all be judged by the community at large.
2- Your participation is a privilege, not a right. You must make every effort to show willingness to IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS and hone your talents. This will require WILLINGNESS to learn from those in charge of the project at all times. (i.e.: Stage Manager, Director, House Manager, Designer, Technical Director.)
3- BE ON TIME at all times to rehearsals, performances, and all support activities like fundraisers and meetings that will advance the interests of the Company and the Art it represents. ACTORS must check in with the Stage Manager one hour prior to every performance. TARDINESS is unacceptable.
4- RESPECT yourself and others will respect you.
5- Leave your personal problems and your EGO outside the theatre space at all times. Take the work seriously and don’t take yourself too seriously. Treat the time and space you share with others as you practice your art as a sacred temple for creativity only and as a TEAM member.
6- Do NOT GOSSIP or engage in arguments. This includes e-mails and phone calls about others’ behavior. Defamation of character or discrediting fellow volunteers is cause for dismissal. ALL issues and disagreements must be presented only to the Director, Stage Manager, or Owners of the theatre, IN THAT ORDER.
7- Use of ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS while working on ANY project in the theatre is strictly prohibited and will be cause for dismissal.
8- Only an authorized Director, Stage Manager, or Owner/s of the theatre may ask you to purchase an item on behalf of the theatre. It is imperative that you submit your RECEIPT/S to that person as soon as you deliver the item in order to be refunded promptly. Any receipt past the deadline established by a notice of the Treasurer will not be honored and will be considered a tax-deductible donation to the theatre by you.
9- ALL ACTORS must be fully responsible for their costumes and props, and for the TIDINESS AND CLEANLINESS of their dressing rooms and the Green Room at all times. Any damage or loss of items issued to you or damage to any part of the HALL must be paid for by the person responsible and may also be reason for dismissal if not honored.
10- NO RESERVED SEATING is allowed in the Theatre. Seating is by first come first serve basis only. If any of your guests break the House rules or cause a disturbance, they will be asked to leave immediately.
12- NO RECORDING OR PHOTOGRAPHY without prior permission from the Director, Stage Manager, or Theatre Owners. NO CELLPHONE use or conversations during rehearsals or performance is allowed. Except for communicating with the Stage Manager or Director, all conversations must take place outside the theatre space during those times.
13- Performing ANY activities in The HALL under the influence of alcohol or ANY other substances may result in expulsion and LOSS OF ALL RENTS.
