The Merry Wives of Windsor, one of Shakespeare’s warmest and most delightfully entertaining comedies. Set in the lively town of Windsor, the play follows the famously boastful Sir John Falstaff as he hatches a scheme to solve his financial troubles by courting two wealthy married women at the same time. What Falstaff does not anticipate is that Mistress Ford and Mistress Page are far cleverer than he is — and fully prepared to teach him a lesson.

As the wives join forces to outwit their would-be suitor, the town erupts into a whirlwind of comic misunderstandings, jealous husbands, secret meetings, disguises, and playful revenge. Alongside the central prank unfolds a charming subplot of young love, as Anne Page’s many eager suitors compete for her hand while she quietly pursues her own path.

Filled with wit, music, physical comedy, and memorable characters, The Merry Wives of Windsor is Shakespeare at his most accessible and joyful. Beneath the laughter lies a celebration of friendship, resilience, and the cleverness of ordinary people who refuse to be fooled.

Curtain Call Theatre’s production brings this timeless comedy to life with energy, heart, and a spirit of community that invites audiences of all ages to share in the fun.
