As reviewed by Michael Miyazaki for Cabaret Scenes:

“The cabaret duo of Sandy and Richard Riccardi are clearly two leaders of the Trump Resistance—Cabaret Division. In Political Snarcasm, they combine original songs and parody lyrics set to established songs to eviscerate the current occupant of the White House. An excerpted set list gives one a sense of the evening: “It’s All White with Me,” “Kiss My Rump, Donald Trump,” “Boy from Mar-a-Lago,” “Chocolate Cake and 18 Holes,” “Stormy Daniels,” “Tiki Torch Nazis,” “The Lonely Dotard,” and much more. The politics of the show were leavened with material commenting on modern topics such as online dating, CPAP machines, and dietary restrictions.”

Their songs have been featured in Queerty online magazine, and Dr. Demento and GayRadio. We perform yearly at the Metropolitan Room in NYC, Germano’s Cabaret in Baltimore, and several times a year at Society Cabaret in San Francisco as well as standing bookings at theaters all over California, Cape Cod, Colorado, Maryland, North Carolina and many more.

Bios

Richard Riccardi has played for such greats as Joel Grey, Martha Raye, Diahann Carroll, Tom Jones, Wesla Whitfield and Mel Torme, was associate conductor for the Third National Broadway Tour of Annie, and has played for the SF Symphony, Opera and Ballet, frequently records at Skywalker Ranch for movies and video games, and it is entirely possible he’s the guy playing piano on your ringtones. Sandy spent 11 years in NYC doing musical theater and light opera with NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Westchester Broadway Theater and many more. They have taken social media by storm with their parodies and original comedy songs, with over 35 million hits and over 70,000 followers.

Sandy Riccardi was called back for a ton of Broadway shows, Well, maybe not a ton but, like, four. Or was it three? Her first acting role was telling the NYC restaurant manager she had waitressing experience. This rapidly backfired with a tray of frozen strawberry daiquiris going down some customer’s shirt. Some people get really touchy about stuff like that. In one show Sandy did get to wear a hat with Glenn Close’s name tag still sewn in. She got her MM from Manhattan School of Music and did quite a bit of regional musical theater. Favorite roles include Maria in The Sound of Music, The Baroness in The Sound of Music, and Gretyl (at age 8) in The Sound of Music or “The Trifecta” as it’s known. Also Lily in The Secret Garden, Marian the Librarian, and The Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd. She is now far too old to play any of them and is looking forward to all those juicy roles that start with “Aunt” so and so.

Here’s a sampling of what people have said about the Riccardis on YouTube:

“Really BRILLIANT satire – some of the best I’ve heard since since Tom Lehrer was in his heyday.”

“For intelligence, wit and musicianship, this is at the top.”

“Beautiful voice, brilliant lyrics, lovely delivery.”

“Thoroughly amazing and hysterical.”

“Brilliant political commentary.
